Red tomatoes
Holy cow - would you believe I finally had my first RED tomato just last week? It's an early variety so what is supposed to be harvested in mid-July is finally coming on in late August. Hmmmm.....go figure. The bushes are loaded with green fruit, let's just hope they ripen in time for a fall harvest.

My large varieties are really late this year, too. I've had a lot of cherry tomatoes, but very few large enough for slicing and/or canning. Oddly enough, two volunteers are producing and ripening before those I started indoors in March! Maybe I'd do just as well to just toss out a bunch of seeds in the spring and forget about them ;-)
