If you're on Pinterest, then you may have seen this dress floating around on it.
from a fabulous mommy sewing blog called Me Sew Crazy
I felt confident enough in my beginning sewing skills that I thought, "surely, I can make a 10 minute ruffle dress". Off to the fabric store mecca in Portland I went and came home with 2 yards of purple ruffle fabric. I followed all the directions on the tutorial and threw it on Lane. My husband came home and I exclaimed, "Well....what do you think??!!"
He said, "Uhhh....looks like you sewed it."
Not a good review.
So I picked out all the seams, remeasured it, refitted it on Lane, and promptly put it away in the cupboard. That was about three months ago.
Since then, I've taken a few classes and have made a few more garments. I feel like I can return to the ruffle dress. So be watching for my finished garment....

that type of honesty is tough...nut if it helps you to improve your skills then go for it. Love you Shan!
Oh, that ruffle dress is gorgeous! I know the ruffle fabric you mean and it can sometimes be tricky.
Thanks for your great question on my blog. The interfacing is translucent, much like tissue paper, so you only need to lay it over the original pattern pieces and trace as you normally would. I hope this helps and please feel free to ask any questions you may have. :)
