I was so embarrassed by the truth

Today I'm in Costco with the baby and Blake. I find that when Blake is by himself with me, he tends to be very animated, very naughty, and very witty all at the same time. It has a combination effect on me in that it drives me crazy and makes me giggle.
I'm just about done with my shopping, lugging my 500lb shopping cart and the baby in the bijorn when Blake, who is walking a few steps ahead of me in the aisle, turns to me and says (rather loudly),
"Mom, some women have really jiggley boobs."
I was so mortified, yet so intrigued that a five year old can pay attention to the importance of good foundation wear. Let that be a lesson to all you braless ladies out there.

Where have I been?
Every day I compose a post in my head to feature here on the blog. Yet every day I am called by either my favorite TV show, non-napping child, household chore, or unanswered phone call to occupy my free time. Twilight just screwed that system. On a lark (and by looking that several of my blog community just love these books), I decided to do a little half.com, ebay, and Costco shopping to gather the Quadrulogy (Bridget - is that a word considering you write the dictionary?) of the Twilight books. I began Twilight last Wednesday and last night I just started Eclipse if that gives you any indication on my obsession to finish these books. In fact, I was just reading my books when I thought I should come and blog about it when low and behold, my 5 year old comes in to the office to ask me to put him to bed. Sigh. Another mother of the year moment, but I blame Twilight. P.S. - Bridget, I can now fully and 100% appreciate your brother being in the movie. Shoot, if I had known, I would have driven up to Portland myself and tried to look extra young so I could be an extra.
At the rate I'm going, I'll be finished with Breaking Dawn by the weekend and then I have to resume my old habits. Sigh.

Happy Birthday Darlin!
Happy Birthday to my one and only!! Luckily he caught up to me since he is YOUNGER than me so now we are officially the same age.

Since we know you don't like your picture taken - we tried to purposely blur your image for security purposes. Okay, really, Jackson took the picture and doesn't realize you should hold the camera still.

We spent the weekend in downtown Seattle while the kiddos stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt and Uncle. Trust me - if you don't regularly get away from your kids I highly recommend it! BTW - we ate at the Purple Cafe and it was amazing - try the baked brie appetizer next time you go - to die for!

He's official
Because of those four itty bitty shots, he can now go to Kindergarten!! Hurray!!
On a side note, since the only time I could get for Blake's kindergarten physical was 4pm on a Monday, I was out of Mother's Helpers, babysitters, neighbors who watch my kids, etc. I had to buck up and take all three boys to the dr myself (something I've managed to avoid since Chase was born five months ago)
It was pretty much a zoo, but you mom out there with more than one child know what I'm talking about.
First we had to take pictures of all of Blake's wounds (I spared you all the pictures, but trust me, anything to waste time in that teeny tiny room that they keep at 100 degrees and make you wait 30+ minutes)
Then we had to pretend that Blake was sick.
Then Chase wanted to join Blake on the super fun tissue paper bed.

Every mother needs a Madaline
I also get my little girl bonding time as we discuss girl things like who has crushes on who and why it's fun to get a tan, but it will cause cancer and wrinkles. She'll compliment my earrings and I'll tell her that I like the shirt she's wearing today. You know, girl talk. Then, if she gets kind of bored playing with Chase, she'll ask if there is anything she can do to help me. So she has been known to dust my house (What??? She asked to help) or helping me gather ingredients for dinner. Seriously, every mother (especially a mother of three boys) needs a Madaline.

life as we know it is about to change
Before our eyes Chase is growing up - he loves him jumper and his brothers make sure he gets plenty of Sheryl Crow, Green Day, and Pearl Jam to bounce to.
His new trick - rocking back and forth. Any day now life is going to change as we have a mobile baby on our hands.
But since he is so cute - we'll keep him! (here he is giving himself kisses next to his new favorite toy - his mirror!!)

Stinky, loud, obnoxious boys

I don't have time to post a picture to illustrate what I've endured this past weekend, but let's just say that with all the testosterone around here, I should be growing a beard by now. Jeremy's teenage brother is staying with us this weekend - so that makes it FIVE, yes, five boys and one me in this little house. My house is a bit smellier than it was two days ago. It's so loud with yelling, wrestling, video games, shouting, and just overall noise that I want to get in my car and drive far far away. I've made dinner the past two nights and knowing I had an extra boy in the house, I quadrupled the recipe. They all ate every last drop with no leftovers.
However, to all their credit, my lawn is perfectly mowed and edged, all of my bathrooms are cleaned (they had to do it before playing video games today), and all garbage, recycling, and composting is out of the house and in its respected outside receptacle.
When you have boys you spend a lot in food and your house smells, but there is little drama and you get a lot of time to yourself. They only bug you when you need to locate a knife (for whittling), duct tape (for constructing some project), and extra video cable and extension cords (to hook up two separate TVs in addition to the one we already have so they can "network" their games - Whatev)
Dear Lord - what were are THINKING when you gave me a houseful of boys? I will await your answer as the years pass, but for the record I don't know how I will survive today.
